void machine is a interactive installation about presence and absence. With this work Fritz Gnad and Gregor Kuschmirz deal on several layers with geography as a source of identity.
Firstly you will find the rotating pages of an atlas, which lack all the names of all places, where the authors have ever been. Secondly those names are projected. Thirdly both the physical movements and the geometric parameters of the animation change accordingly to the spectator´s distance to the installation.
The work premiered at Platine Festival 2013 at Design Quartier Ehrenfeld (DQE)
